Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Design Buff LLC ("Design Buff", "we", "us"), a New Jersey, USA company, about the Typecast website and the Typecast app for Mac ("Typecast"). By creating an account, buying a plan or using Typecast, you agree to them.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Typecast. Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

2. What Typecast does

Typecast syncs the fonts on your Macs through a cloud drive that you own and choose (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive). Your font files and font lists move through that drive. They do not pass through our servers. We provide the app, sign-in and plan checks. Your cloud provider is a separate service with its own terms, and we are not responsible for it.

3. Licence to use the app

While you have an active plan, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Typecast on up to 3 Macs that you own or control, linked to your one account. You may not copy, resell, rent, reverse engineer or share the app or your account, except where the law lets you despite this clause.

4. Plans, billing and renewal

• No free tier or trial. Typecast is a paid app.
• Monthly and Yearly plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each period at the price shown at checkout until you cancel.
• Lifetime is a single one-time payment. It does not renew. "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer Typecast, not for your own lifetime, and it covers up to 3 Macs.
• Prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes. We may change prices for new purchases and for renewals, and we will tell you before a change affects an existing subscription.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. By buying a plan you also agree to Stripe's terms for payment processing.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel a Monthly or Yearly plan at any time from your account (Manage billing). Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, sync stops. The fonts already on your Macs and in your cloud drive stay where they are.

6. Refunds

If you are not happy with your first purchase, email hello@typecast.pro within 14 days of buying and we will refund it. This applies to your first purchase of any plan. Renewals are not refunded unless the law requires it. If your plan is refunded, it ends.

7. Fonts and licensing

Typecast does not give you any rights to a font, and syncing does not change a font's licence. You are responsible for having the right licences for every font you install, sync or use, including the right number of licences for the number of Macs and people using it. Do not use Typecast to share fonts in ways their licences do not allow. Fonts you install from Google Fonts through Typecast are subject to their own open licences.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse Typecast. That includes trying to break or bypass its security or plan limits, using it to break the law or others' rights, or interfering with the service for other people.

9. Updates and changes

Typecast updates itself. We may change, add or remove features. We may stop offering Typecast with reasonable notice. If we stop offering it, we will tell you, and we will refund any prepaid subscription period that you can no longer use.

10. Ending your account

You may stop using Typecast at any time. To delete your account, email hello@typecast.pro. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, with notice where we reasonably can. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 7, 11, 12 and 13) survive.

11. No warranty

Typecast is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that Typecast will be uninterrupted or error free, or that sync will never lose or conflict files. Keep your own backups of fonts you cannot replace.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Design Buff and its owners, employees and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost business, arising from your use of Typecast. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Typecast in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using Typecast after the change, you accept it.
